Abstract

Although ground-based submm facilities havebeen operating since more than a decade now, very few information hasbeen collected at the lower frequencies offered by Herschel. Additional observations need to be conducted prior to launch to assessthe reliability of a given source to be used as calibrator forphotometry and/or spectroscopy.In this paper we present some of the drivers for the preparation ofsuch a database on the basis of pioneering and long-term observing campaigns.
