: there is no reason for taking εὐθς of place and not of time. I do not believe it is ever so used in Attic. In Thuc. 6. 96. 1: 7. 22. 3: 8. 90. 4 εὐθς is no more really local than the English ‘immediately above,’ ‘immediately in front.’ In Thuc. 4. 118. 4 the sense is less clear.
