1 Hence Henry and Schwyzer declare (p. xxix) that each of the last four editions named is actually worse than its predecessor. They could, however, have afforded to concede a little more credit to Kirchhoff, whose successful emendations are in my opinion more than ‘pauci’, and to Bréhier for ejecting a substantial number of false ones.
