1 The old English version of John Warr (1686) should perhaps be given some publicity. Though admittedly full of ‘intersections’, and also sometimes abbreviating the Latin, it is a very lively work of a good period of English prose, ‘The Wall all Bloody with the Track of an Hand’ makes even better reading than Paries palmatus itself.
