1 P. and Demand are wrong to suppose a mistranslation on the part of Dover with regard to στολήν πολεμικήν: when Dover refers to clothes he is thinking of the διάσμος ἐσθής mentioned at the end of the passage. P. insists that the term παρασταθέντες was applied also in the aftermath of the kidnap, not just for its duration. Did the ἐρὠμενοι then have two names, κλεινοί and παρασταθένες?
