1 Mr. Marindin, who reminds me that Pollux may also be thinking of Phaedrus 264 A ⋯ξ ὑπτ⋯ας ⋯ν⋯παλιν διανε τ⋯ν λ⋯γον, suggests that Plato wrote here κἂν ⋯ξυπτιασμ⋯νος ⋯ν γι and 1 incline to think his suggestion better than my own. Cf. Lucian's use of ⋯ξυπτι⋯ζων.
