TIMEMA BARTMANI (PHASMATOPTERA: TIMEMATODEA: TIMEMATIDAE), A NEW SPECIES FROM SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA

Abstract

Timema bartmani sp.nov. is described from San Bernardino County, California. Both sexes are known. Males show relationship with Timema podura Strohecker. Females closely resemble Timema tahoe Vickery. Timema bartmani may be the sexual ancestor of the parthenogenetic T. tahoe.

On trouvera ici la description de Timema bartmani sp. nov. trouvé dans le comté de San Bernardino, Californie. Le mâle et la femelle sont connus. Le mâle s’apparente à T. podura Strohecker. La femelle ressemble beaucoup à T. tahoe Vickery. Il se peut que Timema bartmani soit l’ancêtre sexué de l’espèce parthénogénétique T. tahoe.
