Extract

Xiphidium modestum, n. sp.—Related to X. saltans Scudd. and X .stricutm Scudd., from both of which species it differs in its smaller size, slenderer form and in colour.

Vertex or cone of the head not quite so broad and shorter than in saltans, its closest ally; pronotum with the sides less bulging, and not reaching as low as in that species.
