Notes on and Additions to the Trioxys and Binodoxys Species (Hymenoptera: Aphidiidae) of North America

Abstract

The systematic position of the North American species described, originally, in the genus Trioxys Haliday is discussed. The following nine taxa are of genus Trioxys sensu strictu: T. (Trioxys) ameraceris Smith, betulae Marshall, new RECORD, bonnevillensis Smith, exareolatus (Viereck), gahani Smith, ibis Mackauer, NEW RECORD, infrequens Smith, utilis Muesebeck; and T. (Betuloxys) compressicornis Ruthe, NEW RECORD. Six species fall into genus Binodoxys Mackauer: B. carolinensis (Smith), coruscanigrans (Gahan), cupressicola (Gahan), NEW COMB., nearctaphidisN. SP., palmerae (Smith), and rhagii (Ashmead).
