Parablastothrix Mercet, which has been known only from the Palearctic, is represented in the Nearctic by Parablastothrix neorctica new species, which is described and figured. The type and allotype of P. nearcticus were reared from a species of Coptodisca Walshm. (Lepidoptera) mining leaves of Vaccinium arboreum Marsh. at Jackson, Mississippi. One paratype was reared from Obrussa sp. (Lepidoptera) at Morgantown, West Virginia, and the other collected in Livingston Co., Michigan.
