* We regret that the dates of the ASA meeting this year conflicted with those of the Association for the Study of Negro Life and History. The scheduling of the ASA’s 13th Annual Meeting was done by the local arrangements committee at Southern University almost two years ago. As in Baton Rouge, the dates for the meeting in Boston were based on the availability of hotel space.
