For references in the text, insert a superscript numeral (not in parentheses) immediately following the relevant passage, word or phrase, and after any punctuation.
List citations, notes, etc., under the heading ‘References’ (14 point type) at the end of the article, followed by a rule, and in a numbered sequence in which the numbers are not bracketed but are followed by a stop. (See examples below.)
