Dana M Bergstrom (Australian Antarctic Division) is a terrestrial ecologist with interests in biodiversity, climate change and human footprint and non-native species.
Cath King (Australian Antarctic Division) is an environmental ecotoxicologist with knowledge and experience of both marine and terrestrial ecosystems.
Scott Carpentier (Australian Bureau of Meteorology) is a meteorologist specialising in Antarctic climate and weather.
Summary
Flanked by the Antarctic ice plateau on one side and Prydz Bay on the other, the Vestfold Hills is ~ 400 km2 of ice-free continental Antarctica, dotted with fresh and saline lakes, and indented by marine fjords and embayments. The flora, fauna and climate of is truly coastal Antarctic oasis have been the subject of much scientific interest in the recent years. This special volume is open to any contributions from any discipline with a main focus on the Vestfold Hills and the surrounding nearshore environment.
