A note on the effect of management unit on litter size of crossbred British Saddleback pigs

Abstract

Analysis of data from British Saddleback females mated to Landrace males on 18 multiplying units for a commercial breeding company shows that the important herd effects known to affect litter size in pigs are truly environmental in origin.
