Abstract

In muscle and livers of steers given a diet with sodium monensinate a significant decrease in cadmium content was observed. The concentration of manganese, copper, zinc, lead and iron in the analysed organs varied inconsistently. It seems from the results that, in tissues, monensinate influences the metabolism not only of monovalent cations but of polyvalent cations as well.
