4 For instance: Two Regional Red Cross Conferences took place in 1947. In February 1947, the Vth Pan-American Regional Red Cross Conference was held at Caracas, Venezuela. 19 National Societies were represented by more than 100 delegates who passed 48 resolutions touching upon all aspects of the work of the Red Cross. In S ptember 1947, the European Regional Conference of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies met at Belgrade, Yugoslavia. Its principal object was to study the relief problems which face the Red Cross in the international field and more particularly Societies of the countries victims of the war. 18 National Societies took part in this Conference which adopted various resolutions.
