1 Since the above was written the Council at its recent meeting at Rome, acting upon the request of the British government which desired more time for the consideration of the protocol, decided to postpone to a future meeting consideration of plans for the conference on disarmament. It is probable, therefore, that the conference will not be held on the date fixed by the protocol.
