1 E.g., the seventh edition of Oppenheim's International Law (edited by Lauterpacht in 1948) was translated into Chinese in 1955. Communist China also translated several Russian books on international law into Chinese.
2 Professor Chou was educated at the University of Paris and wrote several books on international law which were widely used in Chinese universities during the 1930's. Since the Communist conquest of mainland China, he has continued to teach international law at Peking University and has contributed a number of articles to Kuo-chi Wen-t'i Ten-chiu (Studies in International Problems), Cheng Fa Yen-chiu (Studies in Government and Law), and Jen Min Jih Pao (People's Daily), etc.
