Abstract

Bifacial-reduction experiments suggest that the characteristics of flake-size distribution can be employed to detect bifacial-reduction activities at archaeological sites. However, data on bifaces in various stages of completion as well as on by-product flakes are necessary for detailed analysis of the biface-manufacturing sequence.

Experimentos de reductión bifacial sugieren que las características de la distributión del tamaño de las lascas sepuede emplear para detectar actividades de reducción bifacial en sitios arqueológicos. Sin embargo, es necesario obtener datos sobre las etapas intermedias del tallado de bifaces asi como datos sobre las lascas obtenidos en este proceso, para poder analizar en detalle la secuencia de la manufactura de bifaces.
