A Cobble with Pecked Designs from Virginia

Abstract

A quartzite cobble, excavated from a Late Prehistoric site on the Roanoke River, bears pecked designs on its two flat faces. These designs are circles with radiating grooves that extend to the edges of the stone. Information is requested on similar stones found elsewhere.
