* This was Mr. Kimmerling, who made his first flight in South Africa at East London on a Yoisin biplane, on December 28, 1909, and afterwards made flights near Durban and elsewhere.

We are glad to be able to add that Mr. A. G. Heinze, a member of the Society, has since lectured very successfully at Pretoria, and succeeded in arousing m the military authorities a keen interest in aerial navigation.—EDS.
