Next summer I will begin to issue a journal for speculative physics. I wish very much to obtain some essays by your hand for it. I ask you to send me your answer on this soon. [208] As a fee, I can only initially promise 8 Saxon rt[hl]r., although I know that this consideration will not determine the matter for you.

I will happily undertake something in return for you, if it is within my power, and am respectfully,

For a long time now, I have been keen to remind you of the gracious promise you made to me some time ago to send me contributions for the journal for speculative physics. A mass of other works, as well as other difficulties, have recently delayed the appearance of this journal – and thus an answer to your letter as well. Now, however, the printing has begun and further issues should appear at Easter. Might I now remind you of your pledge? – If you should have some treatise lying ready, then I ask you to send it to me as soon as possible, in which case it can still be inserted into the second issue.

I would love to write to you much about your excellent Presentation of Transcendental Philosophyin Roschlaub's Magazine. It is the most perspicuous and penetrating [presentation] yet to exist. How very much I would enjoy receiving something similar from you soon.

Forgive me that this letter contains so little that is interesting for you. With the delivery of the first issue of the journal, I hope to write more to you.
