Praefato vicesimo primo die mensis Martii, idem reverendissimus in Christo pater cardinalis et archiepiscopus Cantuariensis iter suum a manerio suo de Lambeth, arripiens, pervenit ad ecclesiam cathedralem Sancti Pauli Londoniarum, ubi de mandato suo celebrata missa de Spiritu Sancto ad summum altare eiusdem ecclesiae per reverendum in Christo patrem et dominum Dominum Thomam, Dei gratia Londoniensem episcopum, et finita, idem reverendissimus in Christo pater, una cum suffraganeis suis, videlicet praefatis ThomaLondoniensi, Richardo Sarum, Roberto Bathonensi et Wellensi, Iohanne Coventrensi et Lichensi, Iohanne Wigorniensi, Iacobo Norwicensi, Iohanne Lincolniensi, Iohanne Eliensi et Edmundo Roffensi, Dei gratia episcopis, ac praelatis et clero provinciae suae Cantuariensis accessit ad capellam Beatae Mariae Virginis in eadem ecclesia, in quorum praesentia facta fuit solemnis collatio per venerabilem egregiumque virum Magistrum Iohannem de Giliis, utriusque iuris doctorem, fructuum camerae apostolicae in Anglia collectorem, assumpto pro themate: ‘Vide… ne lumen quod in te est tenebrae sint. ‘ Qua facta, lectum fuit certificatorium praescripti reverendi in Christo patris Londoniensis episcopi, tenorem continens subsequentem:

Reverendissimo in Christo patri et domino Domino Thomae, Dei gratia tituli Sancti Ciriaci in Thermis sacrosanctae Romanae ecclesiae presbytero cardinali Cantuariensi archiepiscopo, totius Angliae primati et apostolicae sedis legato, Thomas, permissione divina episcopus Londoniensis oboedientiam et reverentiam omnimodo debite cum honore. Literas vestras reverendissimas iampridem ea qua decuit reverentia recepimus verborum sequentium sub tenore:
