The bishop of Winchester's commission to the archdeacon of Winchester

[72r] Willelmus, permissione divina Wintoniensis episcopus, dilecto nobis in Christo filio Vincentio, artium magistro, archidiacono nostro Wintoniensi ac eius officiali salutem, [gratiam et benedictionem]. Literas reverendi in Christo patris ac domini Domini Thomae, Dei gratiae Londoniensis episcopi nuper, videlicet vicesimo nono die instantis mensis Iunii [29 June 1462], recepimus tenorem habentes hunc sequentem:

Reverendo in Christo patri ac domino Domino Willelmo, Dei gratia Wintoniensi episcopo, Thomas, permissione divina episcopus Londoniensis, salutem continuumque incrementum fraternae dilectionis. Literas reverendissimi in Christo patris ac domini Domini Thomae, miseratione divina tituli Sancti Ciriaci in Thermis sacrosanctae Romanae ecclesiae presbyteri cardinalis, Cantuariensis archiepiscopi, totius Angliae primatis et apostolicae sedis legati, vicesimo quinto die instantis mensis Iunii [25 June 1462] in haec verba recepimus reverenter:

Thomas, permissione divina tituli Sancti Ciriaci in Thermis sacrosanctae Romanae ecclesiae presbyter cardinalis, Cantuariensis archiepiscopus, totius Angliae primas et apostolicae sedis legatus, venerabili fratri nostro Thomae, Dei gratia Londoniensi episcopo, salutem cum fraternae dilectionis continuo incremento. Literas domini nostri regis sigillo suo sigillatas nuper recepimus in haec verba:

Edwardus, Dei gratia rex Angliae et Franciae et dominus Hiberniae reverendissimo in Christo patri Thomae eadem gratia archiepiscopo Cantuariensi totius Angliae primati salutem. Quibusdam arduis et urgentibus negotiis nos et statum regni nostri Angliae ac honorem et utilitatem Ecclesiae Anglicanae intime concernentibus, vobis in fide et dilectione quibus nobis tenemini rogando mandamus quatenus praemissis debito intuitu attentis et ponderatis universos et singulos episcopos vestrae provinciae ac decanos et priores ecclesiarum cathedralium, abbates et priores et alios electivos, exemptos etnon exemptos, necnon archidiaconos, capitula, conventus et collegia totumque clerum cuiuslibet diocesis eiusdem provinciae ad comparendum coram vobis in ecclesia cathedrali Sancti Pauli Londoniarum, vel alibi prout melius expediri videritis, cum omni celeritate accommoda, modo debito convocari faeiatis, ad tractandum, consentiendum et concludendum super praemissis et aliis quae sibi clarius exponent tune ibidem ex parte nostra, et hoc sicut nos et statum regni nostri ac honorem et utilitatem ecclesiae praedictae diligitis nullatenus omittatis. Teste meipso apud Westmonasterium, quarto die Iunii anno regni nostri secundo [4 June 1462].
