Isolation (2020) by Ben Chetcuti
© Ben Chetcuti
‘Isolation’ is a commentary on the dichotomy of feelings brought about by lockdown. It contrasts serenity and a proximity to nature with a cold loneliness, set under a night sky that brings hope for the day ahead.
The original artwork was created using India Ink in a mix of airbrush and watercolour techniques.
Isolation is the winning entry of the RCPsych ArtSIG “I am Here” competition of Winter 2020 and features in the “I am Here” online gallery, which invited members to contribute to an evolving visual and written exhibition. The gallery and associated exquisite corpse can be found at: rcpsych.ac.uk/iamhere
We are always looking for interesting and visually appealing images for the cover of the Journal and would welcome suggestions or pictures, which should be sent to Dr Allan Beveridge, British Journal of Psychiatry, 21 Prescot Street, London, E1 8BB, UK or [email protected].
