[lv; 178r] Convocatio praelatorum et cleri provinciae Cantuariensis facta per reverendissimum in Christo patrem et dominum Dominum Thomam, Dei gratia Cantuariensem archiepiscopum, totius Angliae primatem et apostolicae sedis legatum, in ecclesia Sancti Pauli Londoniarum, in crastino Conversionis Sancti Pauli, videlicet vicesimo sexto die mensis Ianuarii anno Domini secundum cursum et computationem Ecclesiae Anglicanae millesimo quadragesimo, indictione nona, pontificatus sanctissimi in Christo patris et domini nostri Domini Bonifatii, divina providentia papae noni, anno duodecimo et translationis dicti reverendissimi archiepiscopi anno quinto.

Dicto vicesimo sexto die mensis Ianuarii, missa de Sancto Spiritu ad summum altare ipsius cathedralis ecclesiae more solito solemniter celebrata, et deinde facta collatione in capella Beatae Mariae eiusdem ecclesiae coram eodem reverendissimo patre et suis suffraganeis ac aliis praelatis et clero dictae suae provinciae tune ibidem praesentibus, et lecto deinceps certificatorio venerabilis patris Domini Roberti, Dei gratia Londoniensis episcopi de et super convocatione huiusmodi, cuius tenor sequitur in haec verba:

Reverendissimo in Christo patri ac domino Domino Thomae, Dei gratia Cantuariensi archiepiscopo, totius Angliae primati et apostolicae sedis legato, ipsiusve in hac parte locum tenentibus seu commissariis quibuscunque, Robertus, permissione divina Londoniensis episcopus oboedientiam et reverentiam tanto patri debitas cum honore. Mandatum vestrum reverendissimum septimo decimo die mensis Decembris ultimo praeterito [17 December 1400] cum ea qua decuit reverentia recepimus in haec verba:

Thomas permissione divina Cantuariensis archiepiscopus, totius Angliae primas et apostolicae sedis legatus, venerabili fratri nostro Domino Roberto, Dei gratia Londoniensi episcopo salutem et fraternam in Domino caritatem. Quamvis praelatorum et cleri nostrae provinciae congregations hactenus ex arduis et urgentibus negotiis fieri dicebantur, propter tamen magis ardua et urgentia ac insolita ac multorum auribus inaudita quae (ut speratur) bonum universale contingent et prius non fuerant retroactis temporibus cum diligenti efficacia pertractata, nostram iam instantem convocationem in qua nullius volumus absentiam excusatam habere impellente universalis ecclesiae utilitate sperata decrevimus celebrare.
