Canterbury Convocations in the Bishops’ Registers 1314-1558
Published online by Cambridge University Press: 20 December 2023
Summary
Before the reformation, the convocations of the province of Canterbury were frequently recorded in episcopal registers, which are now our chief (and often only) source of information about them. The list below gives the dioceses which recorded particular convocations, with Canterbury, London and Winchester coming first and the rest following in alphabetical order. A name in italics indicates that the material is in the register of the dean/prior and chapter. When there were two convocations in the same calendar year, this is indicated by (1), (2) etc., following that year.
