Summary
In a perfect world we would help all children develop effective coping strategies. This would empower them and allow them to manage their own anxieties independent of anyone or anything. However, this may not be possible due to the constraints of time or the child’s capacity. Under such circumstances, premedication may offer an invaluable anxiety management strategy.
