Summary

Chapter 2 examines the verbal projection in Korean, where lexical items are merged to build the argument and event structure. Major innovations of this chapter include a systematic classification of event types, a layered verb (called vP-shell) analysis for lexical causatives and ditransitive verbs, situation type shifters and modifiers such as grammatical aspect, adverbials and negation using the vP technology.
