Summary
Media both reflect and shape the societies in which they are embedded. Chapter 6 discusses diverse ways in which we meet religious difference in popular culture and information production—television, film, radio, museums, advertising, news outlets, websites, podcasts, social media networks, etc. They all influence our perceptions of, provide information about, and at times facilitate contact with people who orient around religion differently. Reinforcing and confronting our biases (often simultaneously), they ultimately transcend their medium and impact interreligious engagement in the world at large.
