Summary
Below are listed the various local and private Acts of Parliament relating to Bedfordshire and its landowners from 1685 to 1785. They reveal the wide range of topics with which local MPs had to be involved. Being brought together in one list, they also show how much the Houses of Parliament affected life in Bedfordshire in the eighteenth century.
Copies of local and private legislation in the period are difficult to find. BLARS holds copies of many Bedfordshire acts. For a general guide to obtaining local and private legislation, see the government website at http://www.legislation.gov.uk/changes/chron-tables/local/intro.
