My very good Lord
I hartily thanke your Lordship for your Letters and for your care of my kinsman Dr Moreton. But I cannot thinke this busines of Slopford fitt for him to meddle in, for both my Lord Keeper and Mr Atturney generall are clearly of opinion that the right of Presentation for this tyme is in my Lord Cheife Baron's Sonne as your Lordship will easily see by such Evidences as they will produce. And therfore at my Lord Cheife Baron's entreaty I am willing to signify thus much to your Lordship, and to pray you to give his Clerke all fayre Expedition for his Institution, if you have noe just exception to his life or learning. And soe having nothing else to trouble your Lordship with at this tyme, I leave you to Gods grace and rest.
