Salutem in Christo
Sir
I have receyved a Letter this weeke from Mr Vice Chancellor, by which I fynde, that a necessity for the Recovering of his health, hath made him take a Journey, both to change the Ayre, and to put him self into a little exercise for some few dayes, which he hath done by the Councell of his Phisityans, and I pray God speed it well to him.
This Letter conteyns noe busynes, but onely an answere concerning two or three small passages which I committed to him at Woodstocke. One thing in it gave me a great deale of contentment and satisfaction, which is all that make's me trouble you at this tyme. And that is, that you have kindly taken upon you to be his Deputy, during this tyme of his absence, for which I thanke you hartily; and you doe wonderfull well in it, because this will give you a little preparation, toward the bearing of that Office in your owne person, when tyme shall serve. For I purpose God willing to make good what I told you at Woodstocke. And I am very confident that the putting you into a little Action, will doe you a great deale of good both in mynde and in body, and add reputation besides. I double my thankes to you for this undertaking, and soe leave you to the Grace of God, ever resting
Your very lovinge Freind
