One rate survives for this parish which is located seven miles south-west of Exeter. About 11 per cent of the parishioners contributed to the rate.

Note: This rate was written on a sheet of paper which measures 8 inches by 12 inches. In 1628 there was a dispute with Malachi Dewdney over non-payment of his third church rate that year. His land holdings comprised closes named Howcombe Meadow, the Willparke, Oakhay Meadow, Broad Meadow, Pound Meadow, Marshe Meadow, Vogsleigh, White Downe, Taddaven Meadow, Bubwills and Rodes. They comprised 50½ acres. A separate list noted he held 35 closes which had combined acreage of 151 acres. These were Dux Meadow, Houndicombe Meadow, Wilparke, Okehay, Broad Meadow, Newparke, Pound Meadow, Piscombe, Challowill, Grasshay, White Downe, Hare Hill, Greaterhay, Miscliffs, Miscliff Wood, Bubwills, Roades, Caddavin Meadow, Caddavin, The Woods, Marsh Meadow, Vogsleigh, Broome Marsh, Little Marsh and West Marsh.
