Summary

Chapter 2 discusses shifts in Ottoman architecture after Mehmed I commissioned the construction of this mosque-viye complex in Bursa in 1419. This period shows the beginning of a new engagement with the Saljuq past and the Timurid present in Ottoman architecture, leading to deep stylistic and technical transformations.
