As demonstrated above, the endorsements on the rolls and the portions of discarded local rolls preserved on the seal tags help to explain something of the way in which the taxers set about their work. In the following detailed description of the rolls I have set out (1) the size of each membrane—an oblique stroke between two figures indicates variation in the width of the parchment; (2) transcripts of the fragments of text on the tags—tags have been numbered from left to right; (3) notes on endorsements. Oblique strokes in the transcripts indicate the beginning and end of lines.
