Hii ni methali ya hekima sana. Hutumika katika nchi zote na makabila yote. Katika kila pahali ulipo, methali hii ifanye kama hirizi yako au ngao ya mwili wako.
Hufaa hasa kwa afya. Yakupasa kutahadhari na ugonjwa. Haifai kuachilia ugonjwa ushambulie mwili wako na halafu kuuponya. Afadhali kujikaga ndui kwa kuchanja chale kuliko kufanya bidii ya kujiponya baada ya shambulio lake.
Serikali hushika methali hii nayo huzuia maambukizo kwa kudumisha hali ya usafi na kwa kuchanja watu. Kama isingeangalia, maambukizo yangetokea. Halafu kazi ya kuyakomesha ingekuwa ngumu mara nyingi sana kuliko kazi ya kuyazuia.
Methali hii hutumika kwa mambo mengine ya maisha vile vile. Heri kuepuka maovu kuliko kufikiri kutokana nayo baada ya kuyaingia. Afadhali kutahadhari kabisa na moto katika nyumba au chombo kuliko kungojea mpaka moto utokee ndipo uanze kuuzima. Wazee wenye busara hulea watoto wao vizuri; lakini wazee wajinga huachilia watoto wao watende watakalo, wakifikiri kwamba wataweza kuwarudi halafu. Basi, kwa kweli, marudi huwa na taabu kubwa sana baadaye. Serikali ikiachilia matendo ya uasi ya jamii au watu fulani mwanzoni, kwa matumaini ya kuyarudi halafu, ingekabiliwa na taabu mara moja.

Mashaka ya kujiponya yakabilipo, mtu hufadhaika akafanya mambo kwa haraka. Hadhari haina maumivu; lakini kujiponya kuna maumivu mengi. Hadhari ina matumaini mengi sana kuliko kujiponya. Kago la kuchanja litazuia kabisa ndui; lakini mara shambulio la ndui likitokea, hapana ahadi ya kupona. Huweza kuleta hata mauti.
Kwa hivi kila mtu mwenye busara lazima atahadhari na magonjwa na mashaka. Maisha yetu machache sana. Hatuwezi kuwa na wakati mrefu wa kujiponya mara kwa mara. Kwa hivyo, “Tahadhari” ni neno la siri la kutujulisha habari za maisha yetu.
