Challenging the ‘West versus the Rest’ binary that dominates comparative political theory, this series will provide a venue for historically informed scholarship and is aimed at authors who engage with intellectual history and the history of political thought. Books will feature comparisons between Western and non-Western sources, but will also retrieve and highlight different strands within various traditions of political thinking. These can be primarily viewed in religious (Christian, Islamic, Jewish, Hindu, etc.), civilizational (European, Asian, African, etc.) or historical/geographical terms. The series will be beneficial to advanced students, academics, policy-makers and analysts, who apply comparative approaches and methods.
