Dear Friends, AEPC members,

On behalf of the AEPC Council, we wish you all a Happy New Year.

The World Congress for Paediatric Cardiology and Cardiac Surgery is approaching (February 17–22, 2013). The Association for European Paediatric and Congenital Cardiology (AEPC) will arrange two sessions during this week in Cape Town: a dinner symposium on Tuesday evening and a joint breakfast symposium with the Japanese Society for Paediatric Cardiology and Cardiac Surgery on Thursday. We hope that we will meet many friends and colleagues from AEPC there.

The Psychosocial Working Group will hold a Meeting on psychosocial care in Cologne in Germany, March 20–22, 2013 and the Dysrhythmia Working Group will arrange a teaching course in Amsterdam, April 19–21, 2013.

Our Annual Meeting will take place in London, May 22–25, 2013. The abstract submission is open until January 11, 2013. The Working Groups for Imaging and Surgery jointly will arrange the teaching course. Please visit the website: www.aepc2013.org.

The Educational Committee of AEPC has an important role for evaluating and coordinating educational events of importance for our members. The Council appoints the members of the Educational Committee for 3-year periods. Some changes regarding the members have been discussed and implemented during the Council meeting in Munich in August and the details of the committee delegates can be found on the AEPC website.

It is the beginning of a New Year and the time for a reminder to you all for payment of the annual fee, preferably via the online payment service on the web page and with a deadline of March 31. Please pay on time and should you choose to be a member of more than one Working Group, inform the treasurer regarding your choice. Please note that the default address for surface mail is your work address. If you change your address, please log in to the web site and change it and send an e-mail to the Secretary-General in order to ensure that Cardiology in the Young is sent to you at the correct address. The Fetal Working Group wishes to invite any AEPC member to share information from the Working Group and invites you to contact their secretary via email address on the web.

Looking forward to meeting you in London and your participation in other AEPC activities during the year.

Shak Qureshi Katarina Hanseus

President Secretary General
