Since the late 1970s, the reason(s) for the performance of certain pesticides to fail after several years of continuous use has been studied. These pesticides include representatives from the herbicide, insecticide, and fungicide groups, encompassing several classes of chemistry–carbamates, carbamothioates (thiocarbamates), and organophosphates.
