Dr. F. L. Timmons, of the USDA Agricultural Research Service, was in Somalia, Africa, March 21 to April 17, 1968 on an assignment with the Wyoming University USAID Program in that country. While in Somalia, he surveyed weed problems in irrigation canals and irrigated cropland, initiated several control experiments with herbicides, and conferred with Wyoming and Somali scientists and specialists on a program for weed control.
