Hot Cores and Cold Grains
Published online by Cambridge University Press: 07 August 2017
Abstract
A review is given of the evidence for depletion of heavy elements in dense molecular cloud clumps onto dust grain surfaces. Particular attention is given to the recent controversy over the nature of the dense clumps in NGC 2024. We also discuss recent ammonia observations of“hot core” regions and evidence that the NH3 abundance is greatly enhanced.
