A Wear Evaluation of Artificial Joints Made of Ti Alloys in Vivo and in Vitro
Published online by Cambridge University Press: 26 February 2011
Abstract
The results of wear tests of various Ti alloys are presented. The N+ implanted alloy, especially after solution treating and aging, shows a better wear resistance. Ti-trace element studies of prosthetic patients' hair or blood show a higher average Ti content after about 10 years of replacement over the control subjects.
