Resonance cones in a drifting plasma

Abstract

Lower oblique resonance cones excited by a harmonic point source in a drifting plasma are studied in different approximations. It is shown that the electromagnetic correction to the dispersion, giving finite wave velocities, is necessary for a correct description of the drift effects.
