[Reproduced from a text issued by the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development. The agreement became effective January 1, 1964. Under the agreement reproduced here the Central African Power Corporation assumed the obligations of the Federal Power Board of the Federation of Rhodesia and Nyasaland under the Loan Agreement of June 21, 1956, whereby the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development provided $80,000,000 for the Kariba electric power project. The Schedule to the agreement regarding modifications of Loan Regulations No. 4 has not been reproduced.

[On page 515 the agreement of the Territory of Northern Rhodesia guaranteeing the Kariba project loan is reproduced. A similar guarantee agreement was made with the Colony of Southern Rhodesia.

[Loan assumption agreements concluded December 30, 1963, regarding the Rhodesia Railways Project and the Southern Rhodesia African Agricultural Project have not been reproduced.]
