page 128 note a John Frescheville, created Lord Prescheville in 1664, ob. s.p. 1682. This was the gentleman who claimed to sit in the House of Peers under a Writ of Summons to his lineal ancestor Ralph de Prescheville in 1297; but, not being able to prove that his ancestor sat in parliament under his summons, he was unsuccessful in his claim. The case is still a leading one in Peerage Law.
