page iii note * The Member of the Camden Society to whom the Council are indebted for calling their attention to this volume, spoke of it as having been addressed to, and having been the property, of Queen Elizabeth. The date, however, and the mention at p. 13 of the “King's Majestie,” shows that it was addressed to Edward the Sixth, and the initial E. on the binding refers to that sovereign.
