Unfortunately, the figures in the commentary by G. Ettlinger on “Primate handedness reconsidered” by MacNeilage et al. (1987) were printed as negative rather than positives. This meant that black became white and areas of labelling referred to in the legand, instead of being darker than the remainder, became lighter than the remainder. The figures are correctly reproduced above, and labelling is seen as dark in certain structures of the left hemisphere. The structures labelled in each figure are those identofied in the original figure legend published with the commentary.
