Vitamin B6 and immunity
Published online by Cambridge University Press: 11 September 2013
In a nutshell
Vitamin B6 levels are lower in inflammatory conditions and levels are linked with immune response, for example in the critically ill, in autoimmune disorders (such as rheumatoid arthritis) and possibly in HIV infection.
As yet there have been too few clinical trials to tell whether there are specific indications to give B6 supplements in these conditions.
