Nutrition and autism
Published online by Cambridge University Press: 11 September 2013
In a nutshell
There is good reason to believe nutrition is important in autism. Most likely links include: gut inflammation and lymph hypertrophy, probably with an immune cause (e.g. food allergy), oxidative stress, fatty acid and micronutrient imbalance.
Convincing RCT evidence using these factors in treatment is, however, much harder to find.
